Artist Collective / Retreat Center now hiring a part time: Facility Maintenance and Groundskeeper.
$20-$35 / hr (commensurate with experience / expertise), 10-15hrs/week, flexible hours.
6 month initial contract, with the potential to grow in hourly wage and # of hours per week.
This is a part-time, year round position — W2 Employee with workers comp and disability insurance, but no health insurance or other “benefits.”

WildHeart: Center for Performance and Embodiment Practice is body positive, anti-racist, queer magic. The ideal candidate for this position speaks that language comfortably.
There are a wide range of tasks, and the role’s responsibilities can be somewhat tailored to fit the candidate’s skillset. Scope of work includes:
Clearing brush, spreading woodchips, raking leaves/pinecones
Gardening
Chainsaw work
Carpentry, drywall, interior and exterior painting
Basic plumbing / electrical skills are a major plus
Appliance repair
Basic maintenance like replacing lightbulbs, cleaning HVAC filters
Rearranging furniture
Shoveling snow, pushing the snowblower
All work takes place at 183 East Road, Wallkill NY 12589. You must provide your own transportation. Any driving “on the job” (hardware store pickups, trash runs, etc) can either be done with one of our vehicles or you will be reimbursed at the federal mileage reimbursement rate.
The work is physically demanding and requires comfort being outside in all weather. Our ideal collaborator is self-directed and proactively communicative. We are deeply passionate about WildHeart’s Mission and hope that you can grow to care about this place and this community as deeply as we do.
