Authentic Movement Fall Series
Authentic Movement is a contemplative dance practice where a mover explores the unconscious mind through self-directed, expressive movement while being witnessed with compassion and non-judgment. This relational practice of “seeing and being seen” fosters trust, self-awareness, and a deeper connection to one’s inner experience.
Community Contemplative Practice
Free Online Event. A weekly 25-minute silent unguided space. Feel free to bring your own practice (sitting/ moving/ meditation/ writing/ journaling/ drawing etc.) along with any props to make yourself comfortable. We will start and end in silence.
Logic of Support: how to find and create support
The Logic of Support
This workshop will look at Gait Mechanics and human fascial anatomy as a resource for exploring the fundamentals of human locomotion and dance. We will work with Contact Improvisation and The Axis Syllabus© as resources for finding support.
Waiting for the Weight: sequencing tension and release while dancing
Waiting for the Weight
We are disassembling and reassembling all the time into different shapes. The “success” of motion comes from a balance of tension and release. Together we will explore our ability to “fall and catch” ourselves and others using the Axis Syllabus© and Contact Improvisation.
