Vocal Prism

Facilitated By: Sasha Bogdanowitsch

Thursdays 7-8pm,
Feb 12-March 19

Vocal Prism is a six week class series focusing on vocal improvisation; the practice and tools to develop it. Each class will contain three main components 1. build technique and intonation through the singing of intervals, modes and pattern exercises 2. learn compositions that will facilitate improvisation and 3. actively execute improvisation through exercises, games and structures; all elements that have either been invented by the instructor or inspired by his studies in world music, contemporary music and composition. All singers are welcome, of whatever skill level and genre. All that is requested is an open ear and a willingness to sing. You may attend as many or as few classes as desired but people that enroll in the whole series will benefit more completely by building progressively through the techniques offered and grasping how they tie in to one another.
