Class Description:

This all-levels friends class will focus on exploring weight sharing through different layers of depth, from the skin to the bones. We’ll work with a range of weight-bearing levels to develop broader palettes of negotiation and give ourselves multiple entry points for sustainable dancing across the lifespan and always evolving physical conditions.

Facilitator Bio:

Lauren Mark (she/her) is a Hudson-Valley based communication and culture scholar and dancer. She has been a practitioner of Contact Improvisation for 2 decades and has taught CI as a relational tool to facilitate conscious intergenerational and intercultural relationship building in the U.S., Taiwan, and France. Lauren frequently thinks about how embodied rhythms permeate our social lives across cultures and contexts, and how we can awaken a deeper awareness of our social environments from our embodied awareness as dancers.
