Property Manager needed for Hudson Valley Artist Collective / Retreat Center
WildHeart: Center for Performance and Embodiment Practice is body positive, anti-racist, queer magic. The ideal candidate for this position speaks that language comfortably.
Contract terms are flexible:

- 6 month initial contract, with the potential to grow in hourly wage and # of hours per week.
- $25-$50 per hour for planned work, commensurate with skills / expertise. Time and a half for emergencies and after hours.
- 10-20hrs/week for routine maintenance – expanding beyond that when emergencies arise.
Job Description:
The Property Manager is responsible for coordinating the labor of other tradespeople for planned maintenance needs, and responding quickly when new problems arise – via phone and text communication with residents and guests onsite, and with site visits as needed.
WildHeart maintains a campus of 10 buildings, and 45 acres. Scope of work includes coordinating labor for:
- Driveway maintenance (including ice and snow in winter) and other groundskeeping needs
- 3 wells, 5 septic systems, 14 bathrooms, 10 kitchens, electric, internet, propane/oil
- Water treatement, smoke detection / fire inspections, Insurance Inspections
This position *could* include opportunities for hands-on maintenance and repairs by the Property Manager, or for professional contacts the Property Manager might bring with them to the job, but WildHeart has already built a large team of employees and independent contractors who know the infrastructure well.
Most manual labor can be delegated, but assessment / oversight requires comfort being outside in all weather. Our ideal collaborator is technically knowledgeable, proactively communicative, oriented towards timeliness, and emotionally intelligent. This role is all about people – the residents of WildHeart, the full- and part-time employees, and the network of contractors who work to keep the place thriving! We are deeply passionate about WildHeart’s Mission and hope that you can grow to care about this place and this community as deeply as we do.
All work takes place at 183 East Road, Wallkill NY 12589. You must provide your own transportation.
