![]() In this workshop we will explore the overlap of somatic practice and art for culture shift. We will begin by looking at how some aspects of our overculture - hyper-activity, electronic devices, systems of oppression, capitalism - live in and pattern our bodies. And our bodies, in turn, create our collective culture, often through our creations. Therefore both our bodies and our creations are places where we can interrupt patterns of harm and create more freedom.

1 event,![]() How do we move? Each class will open with guided improvisation and movement explorations inspired by Gaga movement language and the circular, spiraling patterns of qigong and contemporary dance. In what follows, we will experiment with creating movement scores that invite others into our unique movement styles. Together, we will explore how invitations—rather than prescriptions—can convey the feeling of movement and spark new discoveries in our own bodies, asking ultimately how we might become more together. |

This event focuses on cultivating our personal relationship with sensuality through awareness, sound, breath, and movement. The decadent day will guide us into greater union with ourselves, the land, and then each other, from a centered and loving place. |
