SUMMARY:Somatic Movement Education Program - Muscles Module
DESCRIPTION:MUSCLES  10/09 – 10/21/25 (days off 10/13 & 10/17)Arrivals\, orientation and welcome dinner 10/09 – Morning Departures 10/21/25 (day off if you’re staying for Professional Issues and SME Competency) \n\n\n\nThe muscles establish a tensile three-dimensional grid for the balanced support and movement of the skeletal structure by providing the elastic forces that move the bones through space. They provide the dynamic contents of the outer envelope of flesh encompassing the skeletal structure. Through this system we embody our vitality\, express our power\, and engage in the dialogue of resistance and resolution.

SUMMARY:One is Not Enough Performance with Nita Little
DESCRIPTION:All intelligence is collective intelligence. \n\n\n\nMichael Levin \n\n\n\nWith a focus on practices of physical attention developed from Contact Improv and explored in the Ensemble Dancing setting\, this 35 minute dance driven project engages actions of trance in finding\, organizing\, and creating new modes of physical attention and communication – defining the human by our relational practices of intelligence. \n\n\n\nLead choreographer Nita Little\, in co-creation with Hudson Valley based choreographers- Neva Cockrell\, clyde fusei forth\, Leighann Kowalsky\, Nuria Bowart and more guide local Hudson Valley dancers- Karina Mehta\, Cam Moreno\, Lauren Mark\, Nikita Patel\, Glenna Yu\, Mandy Hackman\, Gabrielle Revlock\, Laure Marin\, Christine Bornath and Timna Jahoda-Kligler through a score-based premiere. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGet Tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExploring intelligence here\, means working on notions of the multiple self to reveal the environmentally entangled human oriented toward being made different by more than human circumstances and the new knowledge that unveils. Actions of investigation and communication between dancers are scored through directed attention acting as a refractive lens that articulates serious states of play. This compositional project is highly dependent upon dancers who have choreographic skills to be able to move away from a dominant visual concern and into other levels of articulation and compositional choice making. Adding exteroception to the definition of the somatic\, scores for improvisations organize physical attention across bodies and include set materials that shape the space.  \n\n\n\nThis work is collaborative on every scale of making\, in its production and performance. Driving the timeline is an edit of a lecture by James Bridle\, Planetary Intelligence. This auditory focus sustains an investigation of the definition of intelligence\, as an ability to communicate on the level of communion\, not just an ability to speak or send messages. Six to ten dancer/choreographers will each be given sections of this lecture in advance to develop scores in collaboration with dancers of their choosing that nest and weave together\, forming the fabric of this performance. The goal is a 35 minute work that embeds the audience in explorations\, articulations and evaluations of intelligence\, not as a thing\, but as a process\, not as a single being\, but as a collective of beings. \n\n\n\nAccessibility: Most of the performance will take place in the Barn\, which has a wide and level entrance and is wheelchair accessible. Weather depending\, there may be part of the performance that takes place by the lake\, which is a 5ish minute walk down a grassy hill\, that is somewhat steep and uneven ground. There is an option to drive down to the lake as well. There are no fully ADA accessible bathrooms onsite. If you have further questions about accessibility please reach out Contact@WildHeartCenter.art. \n\n\n\nGet Tickets for One is Not Enough\n\n\n\nIf you face any difficulties when registering online please show up and pay at the door. \n\n\n\n\n \n \n FacebookThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Contact DetailsName(Required)\n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n \n Pronouns\n \n \n Email(Required)\n \n Enter Email\n \n \n \n Confirm Email\n \n \n \n Price(Required)\n \n $0-50 sliding scale\, suggested $35. SUMMARY:Somatic Movement Education Program - Endocrine System Module
DESCRIPTION:ENDOCRINE SYSTEM 3/19 – 3/24/25 (days off 3/21)Arrivals\, orientation and welcome dinner 3/18 – morning Departures 3/25/25 \n\n\n\nThe endocrine glands are the major chemical governing system of the body and are closely aligned with the nervous system. Their secretions pass directly into the blood stream and their balance or imbalance influences all of the cells in the body. The glands are the keystone between the organs and the nervous system and between the nervous system and the fluids. They create crystalline psychophysical states through which we are able to experience and understand the universal aspect of self.  This is the system of internal stillness\, surges or explosions of chaos/balance and the crystallization of energy into archetypal experiences. The endocrine glands underlie intuition and the perceiving and understanding of the Universal Mind.

SUMMARY:Somatic Movement Education Program - Nervous System Module
DESCRIPTION:NERVOUS SYSTEM 3/7 – 3/17/25 (days off 3/11 & 3/12)Arrivals\, orientation and welcome dinner 3/7/25. Morning Departures 3/17 (day off if you’re staying for Endocrine) \n\n\n\nExperience first occurs on the cellular level. The nervous system is the recording system of the body. It records our experiences and organizes them into patterns. It can then recall the experience and modify it by integrating it with patterns of other systems and previous experiences. The nervous system is the last to know\, but\, once knowing\, it becomes a major control center of psychophysical processes. It can initiate the learning of new experience through creativity and play. The nervous system underlies alertness\, thought\, and precision of coordination and establishes the perceptual base from which we view and interact with our internal and external worlds.

SUMMARY:Practice Weekend
DESCRIPTION:Start your New Year in meditation\, movement and song with Neva and Raffles! This will be a silent weekend infused with sitting and walking meditation\, yoga\, singing\, and ceremony. All the spaces will be lightly guided and held\, though some experience in each of these practices will be helpful. We will meditate alternating sessions of 30 minutes of seated meditation with 10 minutes of walking meditation. There will sometimes be light guidance during meditation and other periods will be fully in silence. \n\n\n\nIn order to connect with the winter season\, we will do some walking and sitting meditation outside! So please bring appropriate clothes and shoes to be comfortable being outside for periods of practice (snow gear).  \n\n\n\nWe will go into silence on Friday evening at the opening ceremony and come out of silence on Sunday morning after the closing ceremony. There will be time to connect and socialize on Friday afternoon and Sunday afternoon.  \n\n\n\nWe will prepare\, eat\, and clean together dinner on Friday before going into silence\, and again together for lunch on Sunday after the closing ceremony. Please bring your own food for Saturday breakfast / lunch / dinner and Sunday breakfast.

SUMMARY:Somatic Movement Education Program - Ligamentous & Fascial Module
DESCRIPTION:LIGAMENTOUS & FASCIAL- 9/17 – 9/27/24 (days off 9/22 & 9/23)Arrivals\, orientation and welcome dinner 9/17. Morning Departures 9/27/24 \n\n\n\nFascia provides the tensegrity matrix of the whole body. It wraps around all other structures as one continuous spiraling\, multilayered\, and multidimensional network of expansive sheaths\, enclosed containers and specialized attachments. These specialized attachments are the ligaments. The ligaments set the boundaries of movement between the bones. They coordinate and guide muscular responses by directing the path of movement between the bones and provide specificity\, clarity\, and efficiency for the alignment and movement of the bones. When all of the ligaments of a joint are actively engaged\, the movement of that joint becomes highly specific and is carried effortlessly to surrounding and successive joints. Fascia supports the psychophysical quality of micromovements of condensing and expanding consciousness without specific content within the embracing context of unity. The ligaments support the psychophysical quality of detailed specificity.

SUMMARY:Somatic Movement Education Program - Organs Module
DESCRIPTION:ORGANS 9/6 – 9/16/2024 (days off 9/11 & 9/12)Arrivals\, orientation and welcome dinner 9/6\, Morning departures 9/16 (day off if you’re staying for Ligaments and Fascia…) \n\n\n\nOur organs are vital and alive. They provide us with our sense of self\, full-bodiedness\, and organic authenticity. Organs are the contents within the skeletal-flesh container and carry on the functions of our internal survival — breathing\, nourishment and elimination. Organs are the primary habitats or natural environments of our emotions\, aspirations\, and the memories of our inner reactions to our personal and social histories. They support our postural tone and our feelings\, and give volume to our movement.

SUMMARY:The Desire for Immortality - An Artistic Exploration of the Fear of Life's Transience - Part 2 Crafting / Rehearsing / Performing
DESCRIPTION:During this two-week artistic research workshop and performance project with Brussels Theater Director Pascal Buyse we will explore how ‘immortality and the human urge to transcend death’ influence our modern-day life and today’s connection with nature. By connecting mystical tales from the past with today’s connection with nature\, we explore together the deeper layers of the theme of impermanence and how it resonates throughout the ages. The project will culminate in a performance open to the public on August 1st at WildHeart.
