SUMMARY:DANCING THE MESS OF RELATIONSHIP: An Art-Monastic Experiment in Relational Meditation
DESCRIPTION:Our intention for this 9-day program is to practice meditation on the relational field. Where a traditional meditation retreat might have practitioners focusing on their breath\, or sensations throughout their body\, this meditation practice will have us focusing on what is coming up between us in relationship moment-to-moment\, the ever-unfolding dance between self and other. Unlike other retreats which focus on relational practices (such as Circling or Group Relations) this program will oscillate between verbal relational processes\, most often Circling\, and nonverbal relational processes\, most centrally Contact Improv and Meditation.

Acknowledging our springtime context\, we will play with CI movements as gestures of new possibilities and growth\, inspiration and illumination. Improvisational sounding will also be invited to emerge naturally as a partner in our dances. Our WildHeart Barn space will provide a container for dancing Deep Adaptation\, woven of the values of mutualism\, compassion\, curiosity and respect. \n\n\n\nFacilitator Bio: \n\n\n\nHoney Sweet Harmony is an interspecies creativity-catalyzing mentorship constellation\, committed to helping everyone remember the regenerative cultural patterns of our ancestors. Kin* have decades of experience with all ages from toddlers to seniors. Deep nature connection and ancestral skills mentors\, kin specialize in facilitating community gatherings for storytelling and storycatching\, music\, dance/movement\, eco-connective healing arts\, natural cycle ceremonies\, and grief/peace tending. Kin serve as helpers at indigenous peace treaty renewals\, peace tree plantings\, and pow wows. Kin also offer private mentoring and eco-healing sessions for individuals\, families\, and organizations. \n\n\n\nKin have experience with many dance/movement and music forms from around the world\, including practicing Contact Improv among the Finger Lakes\, in the Blue Ridge Mountains\, along the shores of Mishi-gami (Lake Michigan in Chicago)\, and the lands of the Mahicannituck River Watershed.
