DESCRIPTION:Contact Improv Sundays @ WildHeart \n\n\n\nFacilitator: Leighann Kowalsky \n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nFirst and Third Sundays \n\n\n\n4:00-6:30pm (2nd and 4th Sundays in Kingston!) \n\n\n\nBYO dinner for a studio-floor picnic afterward \n\n\n\nCI Lab 4-5pm (with rotating teachers) \n\n\n\nOpen Jam 5-6:30pm \n\n\n\nRegister in advance \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nClass Description: \n\n\n\nThis All-Levels class will dive into principles and skills for a relational approach to Contact Improvisation. While meeting the abilities in the room\, we may address the various types of contact points\, skills for scaling body tone\, drawing and sending your partner\, and orientation of the pelvis as a tool for moving through space. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nBio:  \n\n\n\nLeighann Kowalsky (she/her) is a Hudson-Valley based dance artist\, travelling globally to perform\, choreograph & teach. Kowalsky has been a practitioner of Contact Improvisation since 2012\, and has been a collaborator with early CI pioneer Nita Little since 2021. In 2022\, Kowalsky joined the Institute for the Study of Somatic Communication as the Global Coordinator\, and has been developing and adapting  Nita Little’s Advanced/Intermediate body of work\, for beginners. Leighann lives and breathes art\, and appreciates being enmeshed in community\, communication and movement in a variety of forms. \n\n\n\nOr if you prefer to pay cash at the door\, send us an email to let us know you’re coming\, so we can help you find your way to the studio. \n\n\n\nOvernight guests welcome (with advance notice).
