DESCRIPTION:THIS SUNDAY JAN 18 CANCELLED DUE TO DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS FORECASTED \n\n\n\nContact Improv Sundays @ WildHeart \n\n\n\nFacilitator: Lauren Mark \n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nFirst and Third Sundays \n\n\n\n4:00-6:30pm (2nd and 4th Sundays in Kingston!) \n\n\n\nBYO dinner for a studio-floor picnic afterward \n\n\n\nCI Lab 4-5pm (with rotating teachers) \n\n\n\nOpen Jam 5-6:30pm \n\n\n\nRegister in advance \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nClass Description: \n\n\n\nThis all-levels friends class will focus on exploring weight sharing through different layers of depth\, from the skin to the bones. We’ll work with a range of weight-bearing levels to develop broader palettes of negotiation and give ourselves multiple entry points for sustainable dancing across the lifespan and always evolving physical conditions. \n\n\n\nFacilitator Bio: \n\n\n\nLauren Mark (she/her) is a Hudson-Valley based communication and culture scholar and dancer. She has been a practitioner of Contact Improvisation for 2 decades and has taught CI as a relational tool to facilitate conscious intergenerational and intercultural relationship building in the U.S.\, Taiwan\, and France. Lauren frequently thinks about how embodied rhythms permeate our social lives across cultures and contexts\, and how we can awaken a deeper awareness of our social environments from our embodied awareness as dancers.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nOr if you prefer to pay cash at the door\, send us an email to let us know you’re coming\, so we can help you find your way to the studio. \n\n\n\nOvernight guests welcome (with advance notice).
