In times of political distress and unknown\, how can we continue to move at the speed of our attention\, move with our dysregulation\, soften impacts\, and build support systems in our dances? We will modulate between scores that center our attention through slow weight pouring and then expand outwards into more scattered forms of attention to explore how tracking multiple things at once can loosen and attune our dance. In my teachings I always like to honor these practices as research into how our dances can teach us about the world\, and how to care for ourselves and each other in times of crisis and unknown. \n  \nBio: \nMiranda Busansky is a wanderer\, imperfectionist\, and queer multi-disciplinary artist  interested in the off-centered experiences of clay\, dance\, and performance. Their work is sewn in the fields of Wood-Fired Ceramics\, Wild Paper Sculpture\, Contact Improvisation\, and Butoh. Clay\, movement\, and Miranda\, are interested in the facilitation of therapeutic care\, arts education\, and capitalist intervention through collective practices of dance\, ceramics\, and improvisation.  \nMiranda most recently participated in a 6 month community based residency with an organization called Free-Columbia. They inquired into the fertile relationship between dance and ceramics while observing the experience of our bodies as conduit. DESCRIPTION:Shake with Niki (in-person only) \n\n\n\n4:30 – 5:30pm Second Sunday of every month\, starting November 10th (60-75 mins) \n\n\n\nGroup Shake – A somatic movement practice during which we will shake to music or sometimes\, silence. Shaking\, individually but as part of a group to ground us\, can be healing as it is a natural way to relieve tension. You may choose to shake standing\, seated\, lying down or alternating between those depending on what your body needs in the moment. You can choose your own intensity\, when to stop or when to keep going as you listen to your own body. While it is important to keep ourselves open to what\, if anything\, may arise emotionally\, please only engage to the degree that you can still care for yourself. This is not a therapeutic space. The practice will start with a demonstration and it will end in silence. Dress comfortably and stay hydrated! \n\n\n\n$10-$25

DESCRIPTION:Come experience a multi-instrumental Sound Bath with composer-performer Sasha Bogdanowitsch. This full body listening experience will draw from Sasha’s extensive instrument collection of original and global winds\, strings and percussion and his background of intensive musical studies of the world’s musics from countries such as India\, Indonesia\, Europe\, the Middle East and the Americas. Sasha will couple this with his unique vocals and electronics to create an ever evolving sonic tapestry that will immerse the listener in resonance and overtones; aiding all in their own sonic journey\, relaxation\, stress reduction and/ or meditation. \n\n\n\nParticipants will be free to recline (savasana pose)\, sit or stand as needed. SUMMARY:Eros in Motion – A Sensory Journey Through Landscape
DESCRIPTION:3 Weeks of Devising + 2 Public Showings \n\n\n\nFrom July 14 to August 13\, WildHeart artist-in-residence Pascal Buyse will lead a group of participants through a unique process of building performative installations in nature. This residency explores eros as a life force – a queer\, sensual energy rooted in desire\, connection\, and creation. The installations are not static objects but embodied performances of the labor and movement that created them. Participants lift\, crawl\, stretch\, and reach – the act of building becomes choreography. Later\, these forms invite the audience to move through them and reawaken those gestures intuitively. \n\n\n\nCore Research QuestionCan an installation—built and physically experienced by its creators—invite visitors\, without words\, to move in specific ways? How can the maker’s intention be felt purely through material\, shape\, and landscape?Theme: ErosEros here is not about sex\, but about the drive to create\, connect\, and feel. It’s the energy that pulls us toward another body\, a tree\, a thought. It is soft\, curious\, powerful – never aggressive. It is what moves us.

DESCRIPTION:Shake with Niki (in-person only) \n\n\n\n4:30 – 5:30pm Second Sunday of every month\, starting November 10th (60-75 mins) \n\n\n\nGroup Shake – A somatic movement practice during which we will shake to music or sometimes\, silence. Shaking\, individually but as part of a group to ground us\, can be healing as it is a natural way to relieve tension. You may choose to shake standing\, seated\, lying down or alternating between those depending on what your body needs in the moment. You can choose your own intensity\, when to stop or when to keep going as you listen to your own body. While it is important to keep ourselves open to what\, if anything\, may arise emotionally\, please only engage to the degree that you can still care for yourself. This is not a therapeutic space. The practice will start with a demonstration and it will end in silence. Dress comfortably and stay hydrated! \n\n\n\n$10-$25

This full body listening experience will draw from Sasha’s extensive instrument collection of original and global winds\, strings and percussion and his background of intensive musical studies of the world’s musics from countries such as India\, Indonesia\, Europe\, the Middle East and the Americas. Sasha will couple this with his unique vocals and electronics to create an ever evolving sonic tapestry that will immerse the listener in resonance and overtones; aiding all in their own sonic journey\, relaxation\, stress reduction and/ or meditation. \n\n\n\nParticipants will be free to recline (savasana pose)\, sit or stand as needed. We will cultivate curiosity about our partners\, and approach consent as a playful\, embodied practice. We will attune to ourselves\, our partner\, and the ensemble by enlivening our senses and clarifying our perceptual awareness. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nBio: \n\n\n\nNicole Bindler is a dance-maker\, writer\, activist\, and Body-Mind Centering® practitioner and Yoga teacher. She is a Registered Master Somatic Movement Therapist with the International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association. Her teaching and performance work has been presented at festivals and intensives on four continents. Conference presentations include The Future of CI Conference\, Body-Mind Centering Association Conferences\, International Conference on Disability Studies\, Arts & Education\, Conney Conference on Jewish Arts\, Women in Dance Leadership Conference\, Jews and Jewishness in the Dance World Conference\, Bodily Undoing Symposium\, and the Dance Studies Association Conference where she was a conference fellow. Recent projects include curating an evening of Palestinian dance films; co-producing the Consent Culture in CI Symposium at Earthdance; somatic research on the embryology of the genitalia from a non-binary perspective; and a solo dance\, The Case for Invagination\, in which her scars speak candidly about trauma and desire. Her writing on dance\, somatics\, and politics has been published in numerous journals\, and she will be included in the forthcoming Embryo Book Project. She is collaborating with Kristen Smiarowski and Ben Spatz on a new book\, Gathering Sparks: Jewish Arts and Somatics that will be published by punctum books. Elena\, Joe\, and Vinny will be performing classic to modern covers of your favorite artists as well as some original compositions.  \n\n\n\nJoe and Elena P. McLaughlin have been performing locally\, and nationally\, for more than 30 years in various musical projects and together as a duet. They are both accomplished vocalists and multi-instrumentalists and both teach music.  \n\n\n\nVinny Sardo\, as well\, has been performing in various musical projects for more than 30 years and is also an accomplished vocalist and multi-instrumentalist.  \n\n\n\nJoe and Elena met Vinny at an outdoor open mic in 2020 during the height of covid where The MacS Band was born.
