SUMMARY:Shake with Niki
DESCRIPTION:Shake with Niki (in-person only) \n\n\n\n4:30 – 5:30pm Second Sunday of every month\, starting November 10th (60-75 mins) \n\n\n\nGroup Shake – A somatic movement practice during which we will shake to music or sometimes\, silence. Shaking\, individually but as part of a group to ground us\, can be healing as it is a natural way to relieve tension. You may choose to shake standing\, seated\, lying down or alternating between those depending on what your body needs in the moment. You can choose your own intensity\, when to stop or when to keep going as you listen to your own body. While it is important to keep ourselves open to what\, if anything\, may arise emotionally\, please only engage to the degree that you can still care for yourself. This is not a therapeutic space. The practice will start with a demonstration and it will end in silence. Dress comfortably and stay hydrated! \n\n\n\n$10-$25

SUMMARY:5Rhythms ~ a Dancing Map to Ecstasy!
DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Michael Gabriel\, certified 5Rhythms facilitator \n\n\n\nCome… \n\n\n\nHere is a sacred space for you – solo & in connection with other amazing dancing souls – to let go\, to move\, to be moved. All of you is welcome. \n\n\n\nFor this 5Rhythms moving medicine journey\, my prayer is that this practice can support us to live more and more FULLY ALIVE\, connected with our Soul Bliss\, realizing our True Life Purpose. \n\n\n\nCome… \n\n\n\nBring yourself\, however you are. Let’s do the heroic (and truly humble) act of “getting out of the way”. What’s it like to Be Danced? \n\n\n\nGabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms® is a dynamic movement practice rooted in the principle: “if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself” (~G.Roth). \n\n\n\nThe 5Rhythms ignites Creativity\, Connection\, and Community. \n\n\n\nCome do the dance only you can do!“Movement is my medicine\, my meditation\, and my metaphor.” ~G. Roth \n\n\n\nAll are welcome. No prior dance or 5Rhythms experience necessary. Come as you are!  \n\n\n\nChildren are welcome if accompanied by their adult. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRefund policy- \n\n\n\n\nIn advance of 1 week – full refund (less processing fee)\n\n\n\nWithin 1 week – no refund\n\n\n\n\n(This policy stands even in case of sickness so we encourage participants to plan accordingly) \n\n\n\nBIPOC spots- \n\n\n\nWe are offering 2 free spots for BIPOC folx. Please email contact@wildheartcenter.art to get the registration code for one of these spots. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMichael Gabriel has been deeply practicing 5Rhythms for over 15 years and leading it since 2017–in NYC\, Costa Rica\, Big Island Hawai’i… & the Hudson Valley! \n\n\n\nFrom Michael: “The 5Rhythms practice has helped me to meet myself with love\, to bring embodied presence\, awareness and clear\, loving action into my life. I’m dedicated to bring my love of the dance and offer these 5R journeys as sacred space for us to meet ourselves together and dance!!!” \n\n\n\nhttps://www.5rhythms.com/teachers/Michael+Gabriel-Griffithhttps://.5rhythms.com/You can watch a 20 sec Instagram reel of Michael dancing with a friend and colleague (and Michael is doing the voice over): https://www.instagram.com/reel/CvKsaT2teeh/

SUMMARY:Authentic Movement
DESCRIPTION:Authentic Movement is a contemplative dance practice rooted in expressive movement therapy\, where participants explore the unconscious mind through the moving body. The practice brings focus to the relationship between a mover and a witness\, fostering states of compassion\, curiosity\, and non-judgment. With eyes closed\, the mover listens inwardly to impulses\, sensations\, feelings\, and images\, allowing their inner experience to guide self-directed movement. The witness cultivates open receptivity\, non-judgment\, and inner awareness as they hold space for the mover’s expression. In this exploration of “seeing and being seen\,” participants deepen their sense of trust and self-awareness through the practice of Authentic Movement. \n\n\n\n\n\nSample Schedule:\n\n\n\n1-3pm Authentic Movement \n\n\n\nOptional – Stay for following events on the same day: \n\n\n\n3:30-5pm – SongClub with Debbie Lan \n\n\n\n5:30-6:30pm – Shake  \n\n\n\n7-8pm – Sonic Immersion \n\n\n\n\n\nWho is this for?\n\n\n\nThis workshop is for anyone who wants to deepen their relationship to their inner world through movement. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFrequently Asked Questions\n\n\n\nDo I need to have prior experience?No\, you do not need to have prior experience to participate in Authentic Movement. It can be helpful to have some knowledge of mindfulness\, meditation\, or somatic practices\, however it is not necessary. This session is open to all! \n\n\n\nIs this a dance class?Nope! In Authentic Movement participants engage in self-directed movement with no guidance\, suggestions\, or prompts from a facilitator. The practice is intended to deepen inner connection to the wisdom of the body and allow organic movement to arise naturally. \n\n\n\nTestimonials\n\n\n\n\n\n“Lillian is a very clear and creative\, honest and humble facilitator and she has the ability to be there for everyone and take us on endless amounts of different creative journeys that AWAKEN the BODY and MIND in a different way!” \n\n\n\n — Josa G \n\n\n\n\n\n“Lillian has a way of holding you that is so firm yet so gentle. During our session\, I was able to step outside of my buzzing mind and quiet enough of my intellectualizing in order to finally hear what my body has been trying to tell me\, and what a breakthrough that was! While it is important to keep ourselves open to what\, if anything\, may arise emotionally\, please only engage to the degree that you can still care for yourself. This is not a therapeutic space. The practice will start with a demonstration and it will end in silence. Dress comfortably and stay hydrated! \n\n\n\n$10-$25 (with Sonic Immersion $8-20 – Come just for the Shake\, or stay on for the Sonic Immersion right after) \n\n\n\nLocation- This event will take place in the Barn. The workshop will begin with a technique-based warm up with an emphasis on grace\, strength\, and body awareness. Next\, we’ll do a series of exercises to build specific Contemporary Dance skills and an ability to move freely with ease. We’ll then learn a contemporary phrase\, practicing full-body movement and musicality. All the while breathing\, connecting\, and generally having a great time! Neva’s unique style of contemporary dance blends modern techniques and somatic movement\, with a touch of both ballet and acrobatics.  \n\n\n\n\nJanuary 16: Somatic Movement Exploration \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNiki Patel (she/her)  \n\n\n\nWe will use both language and other parts of the brain-body to create individual movement vocabulary to help make sense of everyday life experiences.  \n\n\n\nJanuary 23: BIODANZA\, THE ART OF VIVENCIA* \n\n\n\nCircles\, walks\, dances\, games\, archetypal gestures\, authentic encounters with oneself\, others\, the world\, music and silence… Biodanza is an invitation to cultivate the «Art of Vivencia»\, the ability to be completely invested in the moment. It allows us to explore gesture as the vocabulary that creates the songs of our lives and to rekindle our connection to self\, \n\n\n\nothers and the world. Reconnecting with simple movements of everyday living\, we’ll weave our dances in passionate blissful dialogues of humanity\, in moving poetry\, rediscovering the joy and profound grace of being alive… together! \n\n\n\n*Biodanza is for everyone\, proficient dancers and people \n\n\n\nwho still think they cannot dance. \n\n\n\n**Please note this workshop is from 6-8:30. \n\n\n\n\nJanuary 30: Partnering  \n\n\n\nCourtney Moreno (she/they) \n\n\n\nWe will warm up by playing with how the solo body can partner with the floor\, walls\, and each other\, through relating as well as using touch/contact. Partnering phrases will be taught as well as generated through prompts\, and lead to a final group dance. \n\n\n\nFebruary 6: CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER Collaborative Explorations through Scores: Mutually Authored Improvisation \n\n\n\nLauren Mark 麥心怡 (she/her) \n\n\n\nClass will be a combination of suggestions and invitations for shared offerings\, following a theme inspired by seasonal elements and movements from Chinese medicine. In January\, Lauren will start by suggesting circular and spiraling movement sequences to warm the body\, collecting energy through a centripetal\, inner-directed energetic focus that mirrors that of winter’s corresponding element – water. Movers will then be invited to collaboratively create scores\, a method that takes ideas\, images\, and metaphors to set up exercises for everyone to explore the theme in motion\, together. Lauren is interested in inviting everyone who shows up to dance opportunities for mutual inspiration and individual spontaneity\, experimenting with both the familiar and unfamiliar. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFebruary 13: Moving Musically and Theatrically  \n\n\n\nJerylann Warner (she/her) \n\n\n\nTogether we will learn fun phrases that bring lyrics to life! What makes choreography musical and theatrical is typically performative for sure but it also requires cunning acuity and full on expression. Like living room dancing and shower singing.  \n\n\n\nExpect to learn phrases that are staged\, singing is NOT required but welcome. All levels. \n\n\n\n\nFebruary 20 BIODANZA\, THE ART OF VIVENCIA* \n\n\n\nCircles\, walks\, dances\, games\, archetypal gestures\, authentic encounters with oneself\, others\, the world\, music and silence… Biodanza is an invitation to cultivate the «Art of Vivencia»\, the ability to be completely invested in the moment. \n\n\n\n\nJanuary 16: Somatic Movement Exploration \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNikita Patel (she/her)  \n\n\n\nWe will use both language and other parts of the brain-body to create individual movement vocabulary to help make sense of everyday life experiences. \n\n\n\nFebruary 6: Collaborative Explorations through Scores: Mutually Authored Improvisation \n\n\n\nLauren Mark 麥心怡 (she/her) \n\n\n\nClass will be a combination of suggestions and invitations for shared offerings\, following a theme inspired by seasonal elements and movements from Chinese medicine. Supported by the space in and around us\, as well as the room as a whole\, we will utilize various kinds of music/sound\, guided kinesthetic imagery and hands-on partner studies. Through our practice together\, we will cultivate letting go of unnecessary tension(s) and\, at one’s own pace\, allow for new movement possibilities to arise. \n\n\n\nReleasing is beneficial to movers at any level\, with or without previous dance training\, to people recovering from injuries\, as well as to professional dancers\, actors\, musicians and artists of all kinds. SUMMARY:Group Shake
DESCRIPTION:Group Shake (in-person only) \n\n\n\n5-6.30pm January 12 (60-75 mins) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGroup Shake – A somatic movement practice during which we will shake to music or sometimes\, silence. \n\n\n\n$10-$25 (with Sonic Immersion $8-20 – Come just for the Shake\, or stay on for the Sonic Immersion right after) \n\n\n\nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER \n\n\n\nLocation – This workshop will take place in the Barn. If you’re coming to WildHeart for the first time\, please visit our Directions page for arrival info.
