SUMMARY:One is Not Enough Performance with Nita Little
DESCRIPTION:All intelligence is collective intelligence. \n\n\n\nMichael Levin \n\n\n\nWith a focus on practices of physical attention developed from Contact Improv and explored in the Ensemble Dancing setting\, this 35 minute dance driven project engages actions of trance in finding\, organizing\, and creating new modes of physical attention and communication – defining the human by our relational practices of intelligence. \n\n\n\nLead choreographer Nita Little\, in co-creation with Hudson Valley based choreographers- Neva Cockrell\, clyde fusei forth\, Leighann Kowalsky\, Nuria Bowart and more guide local Hudson Valley dancers- Karina Mehta\, Cam Moreno\, Lauren Mark\, Nikita Patel\, Glenna Yu\, Mandy Hackman\, Gabrielle Revlock\, Laure Marin\, Christine Bornath and Timna Jahoda-Kligler through a score-based premiere. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGet Tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExploring intelligence here\, means working on notions of the multiple self to reveal the environmentally entangled human oriented toward being made different by more than human circumstances and the new knowledge that unveils. Actions of investigation and communication between dancers are scored through directed attention acting as a refractive lens that articulates serious states of play. This compositional project is highly dependent upon dancers who have choreographic skills to be able to move away from a dominant visual concern and into other levels of articulation and compositional choice making. Adding exteroception to the definition of the somatic\, scores for improvisations organize physical attention across bodies and include set materials that shape the space.  \n\n\n\nThis work is collaborative on every scale of making\, in its production and performance. Driving the timeline is an edit of a lecture by James Bridle\, Planetary Intelligence. This auditory focus sustains an investigation of the definition of intelligence\, as an ability to communicate on the level of communion\, not just an ability to speak or send messages. Six to ten dancer/choreographers will each be given sections of this lecture in advance to develop scores in collaboration with dancers of their choosing that nest and weave together\, forming the fabric of this performance. The goal is a 35 minute work that embeds the audience in explorations\, articulations and evaluations of intelligence\, not as a thing\, but as a process\, not as a single being\, but as a collective of beings. \n\n\n\nAccessibility: Most of the performance will take place in the Barn\, which has a wide and level entrance and is wheelchair accessible. Weather depending\, there may be part of the performance that takes place by the lake\, which is a 5ish minute walk down a grassy hill\, that is somewhat steep and uneven ground. There is an option to drive down to the lake as well. There are no fully ADA accessible bathrooms onsite. If you have further questions about accessibility please reach out Contact@WildHeartCenter.art. \n\n\n\nGet Tickets for One is Not Enough\n\n\n\nIf you face any difficulties when registering online please show up and pay at the door. \n\n\n\n\n \n \n NameThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Contact DetailsName(Required)\n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n \n Pronouns\n \n \n Email(Required)\n \n Enter Email\n \n \n \n Confirm Email\n \n \n \n Price(Required)\n \n $0-50 sliding scale\, suggested $35. SUMMARY:Ameri-clecti-cana Performance
DESCRIPTION:In this upside-down world\, The Downside Up has made it our mission to boost your spirits with our signature Americlecticana sound – a dash of country\, a dollop of blues\, a splash of jazz\, and a spoonful of rootsy rock. \n\n\n\nOne February day in 2023\, Al\, Amy and Evan met in Evan’s living room to learn some tunes and find a common sound. \n\n\n\nWhat we’ve birthed over two years of writing and rehearsing\, pop-up shows\, potlucks\, and parties is deeper and wider than we ever imagined  \n\n\n\nSometimes souls operate at cross purposes. Sometimes purposes cross and souls cooperate. Downside Up is a case of the latter. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGet Tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDownside Up\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRecording engineer\, producer\, songwriter\, bassist and environmentalist Al Hemberger owns and operates The Loft Recording Studios in Bronxville\, NY\, which has recorded many gold and platinum songs and hosted hundreds of artists\, from Rihanna to Rod Stewart to NSync. SUMMARY:Touching Fat: Sensual Somatics for Fat People
DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Jules Pashall and Scarlet Tunkl\, this retreat will explore and celebrate the magic of being present and embodied with fatness in community with other fat folx. We will use touch\, movement\, noise making and creative play to experience the sensuality inherent in our fat tissue. This retreat will uplift fatness as more than just a descriptor of bodies\, but as an energy and access point to sensual presence. Each activity will pull inspiration from the formal qualities of fat: soft\, lush\, velvety\, deep\, full\, whole. This retreat will have a special focus on touch so that we can learn new things about how we like to be loved\, touched and tended.

SUMMARY:Contact Improv Sundays @ WildHeart
DESCRIPTION:Contact Improv Sundays @ WildHeart \n \n \nJune 15\, 2025 \nFirst and Third Sundays \nFacilitator: Miranda Busansky \n  \n \n4:00-6:30pm (2nd and 4th Sundays in Kingston!) \n \nBYO dinner for a studio-floor picnic afterward \n \nCI Lab 4-5pm (with rotating teachers) \n \nOpen Jam 5-6:30pm \n \nRegister in advance   \n \n \n\n  \n   \nClass Description:  \nIn this class\, we will explore attention and the ways in which it travels through our collective and individual bodies. In times of political distress and unknown\, how can we continue to move at the speed of our attention\, move with our dysregulation\, soften impacts\, and build support systems in our dances? We will modulate between scores that center our attention through slow weight pouring and then expand outwards into more scattered forms of attention to explore how tracking multiple things at once can loosen and attune our dance. In my teachings I always like to honor these practices as research into how our dances can teach us about the world\, and how to care for ourselves and each other in times of crisis and unknown. \n  \nBio: \nMiranda Busansky is a wanderer\, imperfectionist\, and queer multi-disciplinary artist  interested in the off-centered experiences of clay\, dance\, and performance. Their work is sewn in the fields of Wood-Fired Ceramics\, Wild Paper Sculpture\, Contact Improvisation\, and Butoh. Clay\, movement\, and Miranda\, are interested in the facilitation of therapeutic care\, arts education\, and capitalist intervention through collective practices of dance\, ceramics\, and improvisation.  \nMiranda most recently participated in a 6 month community based residency with an organization called Free-Columbia. They inquired into the fertile relationship between dance and ceramics while observing the experience of our bodies as conduit. Miranda taught a weekly movement class called Dancing The Disturbance\, facilitated monthly music and dance jams\,  and concluded this residency with a performance art exhibition at Lightforms Art Center in Hudson NY. \n  \nOr if you prefer to pay cash at the door\, send us an email to let us know you’re coming\, so we can help you find your way to the studio. \n \nOvernight guests welcome (with advance notice). SUMMARY:Solstice Workshop: SOMA SOMA SOMA
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Summer solstice workshop celebrating embodiment\, community\, and creative expression. In this 4-hour workshop\, participants will experience the power of somatics\, an intentional change process by which we realize transformation\, individually and collectively. \n\n\n\nThis retreat offers space for contemplative movement + joyful play. Held in the nourishing environment of WildHeart\, we’ll move\, meditate\, draw\, journal\, and practice politicized somatics. Our practice will invite the softening of bodies and breath while staying rooted and engaged with the present moment. Through this work\, we will consider and embody new ways of being together in liberation and care.

DESCRIPTION:3 Weeks of Devising + 2 Public Showings \n\n\n\nFrom July 14 to August 13\, WildHeart artist-in-residence Pascal Buyse will lead a group of participants through a unique process of building performative installations in nature. This residency explores eros as a life force – a queer\, sensual energy rooted in desire\, connection\, and creation. The installations are not static objects but embodied performances of the labor and movement that created them. Participants lift\, crawl\, stretch\, and reach – the act of building becomes choreography. Later\, these forms invite the audience to move through them and reawaken those gestures intuitively. \n\n\n\nCore Research QuestionCan an installation—built and physically experienced by its creators—invite visitors\, without words\, to move in specific ways? How can the maker’s intention be felt purely through material\, shape\, and landscape?Theme: ErosEros here is not about sex\, but about the drive to create\, connect\, and feel. It’s the energy that pulls us toward another body\, a tree\, a thought. It is soft\, curious\, powerful – never aggressive. It is what moves us.

SUMMARY:The Body as Threshold: A Practice of Return and Departure
DESCRIPTION:This workshop examines the body as a threshold—a space where what is known meets what is waiting to emerge. \n\n\n\nWe start by returning home—to breath\, sensation\, and presence—before moving toward movement and creative discovery. Through guided improvisation\, structured frameworks\, and attentive presence\, we explore how form and constraint can unlock freedom\, expression\, and transformation. \n\n\n\nThis practice encourages you to deepen your presence\, expand creative resources\, and discover movement that feels both new and deeply personal. It provides tools to support choreographic inquiry\, the creative process\, and embodied exploration. \n\n\n\nTogether\, we experience cycles of arrival\, departure\, and return—each time discovering new territory. This workshop features live music by musician and composer Lisa DeGrace. We invite you to join us; the only requirement is a willingness to begin.

SUMMARY:Sonic Immersion with Timothy Hill
DESCRIPTION:This sonic immersion will be a soulful\, intimate journey with our most primal and organic musical instrument\, the human voice. As a pioneer in the art of harmonic singing (aka: overtone\, or throat\, singing) and a lifelong student of Hindustani vocal music (raga) as well as being a composer in his own right\, Timothy has gone deeply into the interior frontiers of expression. He will accompany himself on tanpura\, acoustic guitar\, and lyre. To conclude\, Timothy will offer a song for two to bring our expansive meditative state into a renewed\, grounded awareness.
