DESCRIPTION:Vija’s two-hour contemporary class starts with a careful\, full body warmup influenced by her decades-long practice of Simonson Technique. The emphasis is on anatomical awareness with a healthy balance of stretching\, strengthening\, and dance technique. After center warmup and floor stretches\, Vija leads the class in progressions—short combinations traveling across the studio. The class culminates in a longer dance combination\, followed by a short period of student improvisation. Vija loves music and uses a variety of genres. Her contemporary movement incorporates attention to musicality\, percussive/lyrical contrast\, fluidity\, and emotion

DESCRIPTION:Queer Body Jam/Improv is a monthly dance/flow class for Queer Bodies! This is an all-levels movement class made for every body. We will move through 75 minutes of open-format continuous movement\, guided by vocal and movement cues. No previous dance experience necessary – willingness to sweat and stay open minded welcome! The goal of this class is to create a safe space for Queer folks to practice an embodied mind+body connection through joy\, effort\, texture\, stamina\, and release. \n\n\n\n\nFacilitated by Jessy Dae Crist. SUMMARY:Shake with Niki
DESCRIPTION:Shake with Niki (in-person only) \n\n\n\n4:30 – 5:30pm Second Sunday of every month\, starting November 10th (60-75 mins) \n\n\n\nGroup Shake – A somatic movement practice during which we will shake to music or sometimes\, silence. Shaking\, individually but as part of a group to ground us\, can be healing as it is a natural way to relieve tension. You may choose to shake standing\, seated\, lying down or alternating between those depending on what your body needs in the moment. You can choose your own intensity\, when to stop or when to keep going as you listen to your own body. While it is important to keep ourselves open to what\, if anything\, may arise emotionally\, please only engage to the degree that you can still care for yourself. This is not a therapeutic space. The practice will start with a demonstration and it will end in silence. Dress comfortably and stay hydrated! \n\n\n\n$10-$25

SUMMARY:Sonic Immersion
DESCRIPTION:Come experience a multi-instrumental Sound Bath with composer-performer Sasha Bogdanowitsch. This full body listening experience will draw from Sasha’s extensive instrument collection of original and global winds\, strings and percussion and his background of intensive musical studies of the world’s musics from countries such as India\, Indonesia\, Europe\, the Middle East and the Americas. Sasha will couple this with his unique vocals and electronics to create an ever evolving sonic tapestry that will immerse the listener in resonance and overtones; aiding all in their own sonic journey\, relaxation\, stress reduction and/ or meditation. \n\n\n\nParticipants will be free to recline (savasana pose)\, sit or stand as needed. Some yoga mats and blankets will be available but please bring whatever materials you need to feel warm and relaxed. \n\n\n\nThe event will last 60 minutes. \n\n\n\nCome just for the Sonic Immersion or come early for Shake with Niki\, and stay for both. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n8
