SUMMARY:Cuddle Party CANCELLEEDDDD :(
DESCRIPTION:OCTOBER CUDDLE PARTY CANCELLLLLEDDDD\n\n\n\nWe are so sorry\, hope to see you in November! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFacilitated by Facilitator-in-Training Tommy “Captain Cuddles” Seda \n\n\n\nAt WildHeart: Center for Performance and Embodiment Practice \n\n\n\nThird Saturdays\, 5:30-8:00pm \n\n\n\nFor ages 17 and over \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n$30 per person \n\n\n\n*Please reach out if money is a barrier \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nRegister to Join Us!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWelcome to Cuddle Party!\n\n\n\nA workshop on Consent and Communication\, cleverly disguised as a Pajama Party. \n\n\n\nHave recent events left you feeling deprived of opportunities for touch? Do you feel stressed\, overwhelmed\, isolated\, or alone? Have you ever said yes when you really wanted to say no? Do you struggle to ask for what you really want?  \n\n\n\nIf any of this sounds like you or you are just curious then you are invited to pack your PJs\, your favorite pillow\, and a snack to share and give yourself the gift of a Cuddle Party. \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWhat Happens at a Cuddle Party?\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nFirst\, A Welcome Circle & Mini-Workshop \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAfter you arrive at the event location\, sign in\, and change into pajamas in the private changing area\, the Cuddle Party starts with an hour-long Welcome Circle\, led by Tommy Seda \n\n\n\nThis Welcome Circle is where we create the structure and safe space for the socializing to follow. It is also where we break the ice and get a group of strangers to feel not so strange to one another. This is where you and other Cuddle Party participants can… \n\n\n\n\nIntroduce yourselves\,\n\n\n\nLearn about the Cuddle Party philosophy\,\n\n\n\nGet oriented to the Cuddle Party rules\,\n\n\n\nPractice the Cuddle Party communication skills\n\n\n\nBe led through a few ice-breaker exercises\n\n\n\nAs the Welcome Circle concludes\, most participants find themselves feeling surprised by how comfortable they feel.\n\n\n\n\nThen\, Two Hours of Self-Directed Connection \n\n\n\nNow it is time for you to ask for what you want\, say yes and no to requests and invitations\, cuddle according to your desires and comfort (or just talk if you prefer)\, connect with fascinating people\, “cuddle mingle\,” and\, ultimately\, relax into the flow of an unusually playful and respectful social environment. \n\n\n\nSome participants cuddle in groups\, others one-on-one\, while some like to talk and not cuddle for a time\, or not at all. Cuddling can mean feet against feet\, full-body hugs\, head-rubs\, spooning — it is\, indeed\, up to you. And\, configurations and positions shift significantly throughout the event\, thanks in part to Rule 6 Change your mind & keep yourself happy. \n\n\n\nAlso throughout the event\, the Cuddle Party Facilitators participate with you so that you can feel relaxed and supported and have a great time with your experiences. \n\n\n\nThe socializing and cuddling\, like the Welcome Circle\, all take place in our cozy environment\, enhanced by an eclectic and charming mix of music played at a volume that allows easily for conversation. There are cookies\, fruit\, munchies\, juice and no intoxicants (other than the oxytocin\, that is). \n\n\n\n\nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Facilitator:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTommy “Captain Cuddles” Seda has always followed the philosophy he learned as a teen of “learn one\, do one\, teach one”. With that motto driving him\,  he has been teaching and facilitating programs that range from one hour workshops to summer long camps. He has held certifications as instructor with several private and government organizations. Currently his passion for teaching is focused on cuddle parties where he is a facilitator in training enrolled in the Cuddle Party Inc training program. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“What Else Do I Need To Know?”\n\n\n\nThis event is non sexual\, drug and alcohol free\, and limited to participants who are 17+ \n\n\n\nPlease bring a blanket\, pillow\, and healthy snack to share! \n\n\n\nAlso a reusable water bottle so we can save on plastic use 🙂 \n\n\n\nDoors will be locked at 6:15 as no one may join after the opening circle has started. \n\n\n\nThis event is non sexual\, drug and alcohol free\, and limited to participants who are 17+ \n\n\n\nCOVID PROTOCOL: Please present a negative rapid test. \n\n\n\nIf you test positive or are not feeling well\, please stay home. Your ticket will be refunded in full if you must cancel due to illness or exposure. Masks will not be required but anyone’s choice to wear one will be honored without question. \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:lush & whole: welcoming our fat as an embodied resource
DESCRIPTION:Your fat is pulsating with more energy density than any other tissue in your body but most of us haven’t been invited to connect with it. What becomes possible when you have more of your body to feel and move with? In “Lush & Whole: Welcoming our Fat as an Embodied Resource” you will spend 3 nights exploring your fat somatically and creatively\, to discover what emerges when you let your fat be felt and known. \n\n\n\nFaciliated by Jules Pashall & Laura McCunniff Reid

SUMMARY:Loom Ensemble March Devising Intensive
DESCRIPTION:We are beginning the development process for Loom Ensemble’s next show\, and are welcoming new collaborators into the creative process! \n\n\n\nThis fall\, winter and spring\, we’ll gather about once a month for either a long weekend or full week intensives\, at WildHeart: a performance incubation / retreat space in the Hudson Valley. In these creative workperiods\, we welcome performers (dancers\, actors\, musicians)\, writers\, composers\, designers\, dramaturgs — we’ll be approaching the material from all angles.  \n\n\n\nThis is a body positive\, queer\, anti-racist space. The work is explicitly political\, leaning into raw conversations\, but centering wellbeing and respect for the artist throughout.

SUMMARY:Sacred Vessel Workshop with Sound Healing
DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Cari Skier \n\n\n\nAt WildHeart: Center for Performance and Embodiment Practice \n\n\n\n10am-4pm\, Saturday March 23\, 2024 \n\n\n\nThe Sacred Vessel Workshop is a full-day retreat of integrating the art-making process with a live\, immersive\, healing soundscape to help you release the things that no longer serve you. \n\n\n\nThis workshop explores the Japanese art of Kintsugi and the philosophy of Wabi Sabi as a means of self-acceptance and healing. \n\n\n\nThe vessel represents us as an individual\, we are vessels that hold many things. But sometimes we break and need to be put back together. Our brokenness changes us\, makes us who we are. And so we will break and then repair our bowls by painting\, collaging and writing and highlighting our beautiful cracks with gold.  Expressing through images and words\, all the hidden components that make us\, us. This is a deeply personal process that will challenge you to embrace your imperfections with self-compassion and love.No artistic skills necessary\,All materials provided. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n$75 per person \n\n\n\n*Please reach out if money is a barrier \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nRegister to Join Us!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFrequently asked questions\n\n\n\nWho is it for?  Anyone interested in exploring art-making as a process for healing. No prior skills needed. \n\n\n\nDo I need to bring anything? Just a bag lunch! All workshop materials are provided. \n\n\n\nDo I need to be an artist to participate in this workshop? No\, no art skills are necessary. Anyone can do this activity. \n\n\n\nWhat is Sound Healing? Sound Healing\, or sound bath is a meditative experience where those in attendance are “bathed” in sound waves. These waves are produced by various sources\, including healing instruments such as gongs\, crystal singing bowls\, percussion\, chimes\, rattles\, tuning forks\, and even the human voice itself. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Facilitator:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCari Skier is a Therapeutic Art Specialist & Certified Sound Healing Practitioner. SUMMARY:Vocal Flow: a Circlesinging and Vocal Improv Intensive
DESCRIPTION:Embrace your voice and unique creativity! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFacilitated by Onome \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister to Join\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis intensive provides a safe and fun space to practice embodying core principles of spontaneous vocal composition: listening\, attunement\, courage\, self-trust\, compassion\, dynamics\, and the spirit of play. We will focus on the building blocks of vocal improvisation to develop awareness\, skills\, confidence and cohesion. \n\n\n\nI will share the techniques I’ve synthesized from my studies with Bobby McFerrin\, Rihannon\, Meredith Monk\, Música do Círculo\, theater improv\, folk music\, hip-hop freestyle\, sound healing\, archetypes\, chakras\, somatic experiencing\, and mindfulness practices. \n\n\n\nEach participant will have opportunities to create\, lead and support improvised songs. You will also learn tools for how to get “unstuck” and maintain the flow of your creativity in any improvisational context. \n\n\n\nOpen to singers of all backgrounds and experience levels! All that is required is the desire to connect in a welcoming circle of voices.  \n\n\n\nYou will walk away with a deeper awareness of your creative signature\, a greater appreciation for your unique expression\, and an increased capacity to connect with your own heart\, and the hearts of others through voice. \n\n\n\nI recommend that you keep a water bottle handy during the intensive\, and wear clothes that allow freedom of movement and breath \n\n\n\nSchedule\n\n\n\n10:30am – Doors open for arrival \n\n\n\n11am – Opening +Intros \n\n\n\n11:30am – Vocal Flow: Part 1 \n\n\n\n1pm – Lunch (Bring your own lunch) \n\n\n\n2pm – Vocal Flow: Part 2 \n\n\n\n3:30pm – Break \n\n\n\n3:40pm – Circlesinging  \n\n\n\n4:40pm – Debrief + Processing \n\n\n\n5pm – Closing Circle \n\n\n\nWho is it for?\n\n\n\nExpressive arts enthusiasts whose souls are deeply nourished by community vocal rituals. \n\n\n\nPeople looking to bring more inspiration into every aspect of their life – work\, hobbies\, relationships – so that they can live from a state of purpose and joy. \n\n\n\nPeople looking to invest in creative nourishment in a supportive community. \n\n\n\nFrequently asked questions\n\n\n\nQ: I’m not a “singer.” Can I work with you? \n\n\n\nA: Absolutely! SUMMARY:The Desire for Immortality - An Artistic Exploration of the Fear of Life's Transience - Part 1 Research / Creating / Devising
DESCRIPTION:During this two-week artistic research workshop and performance project with Brussels Theater Director Pascal Buyse we will explore how ‘immortality and the human urge to transcend death’ influence our modern-day life and today’s connection with nature. By connecting mystical tales from the past with today’s connection with nature\, we explore together the deeper layers of the theme of impermanence and how it resonates throughout the ages. The project will culminate in a performance open to the public on August 1st at WildHeart.
